Backyard Visitors Not so much of a traditional 'pet' but if you are lucky enough to have our native animals in your yard you will know what a benefit they are.... No Mowing!! we call this lovely Bennett's Wallaby SMILEY. He has been coming around for 2 years now and just loves to sit meditation style in the sun near the clothes line, munching on the longer grass. We love having a chat with him, he's so calm and just stays seated  as we go about our business. He's a pet with benefits because he makes us feel so good.
When they help in the garden The chickens love when we are outside digging around, they always come over for an inspection. Chickens are fantastic pest controllers and with such incredible eyesight they can spot the most miniscule bug and happily gobble it up. If we happen to come across a snail we think it must be like chocolate as the race is on to steal it from each other. Gardening organically is so important for us and the environment so what better way to help the planet then by keeping backyard poultry, they are definitely pets with benefits    They give us fantastic manure which the veggies love, eat all our bugs and produce the yummiest eggs and they are just so amusing to watch!  Great reading if you are interested is starting out with chooks at   https://www.organicgardener.com.au/                                                 ...
